There Goes the Neighborhood

No matter where you go, eventually someone comes and builds something.

Irvine is proud to announce that a new medical center is going to be built on

the last remaining bit of open land.  No matter that there are medical

facilities all over the place, there needs to be one now on this horribly vacant

plot.  The chief annoyance of this site being that if you stand at its SW corner and

squint across, you can catch a glimpse of the historic empty horror of Irvine Ranch

before they beautified it with doctor's offices.  Standing at the correct angle,

your eye flows across the field to a drop-off and subsequent vegetation which

obscures the sight of any building within a narrow field of view. Shudder.

I had to build a back wheel for it because it needed a new freewheel and I had a hub, but didn't want to lace it into the old rim.
